Stop motion and time lapse recording?

Can I stop motion and time lapse recording on my DVX-100B? If so what settings do I use? I thought you could do this on the 100 or 100A.

the 100 and 100a can take a single frame? How has I never heard of this before? I've seen people just take only 1 frame and animate in post. Does anyone know if you can actually do stop motion in cam with the dvx?

The master himself barry green explained "The tape records a burst of 15, but you don't use all 15. You speed it up by a factor of 15, so that you only use one frame per burst, which mean you get one frame per exposure.

You don't have to use the interval recording either (which automates the process, like an intervalometer). You can have it just record a short burst every time you press "record", which would be better done on the remote control so you don't bump the camera.

Trust me, you can do 100% stop-motion effects, one-frame-at-a-time animation with the DVX. You just have to speed up the footage in post to get it to be single frames."

I live for his dvx book and dvd, the dvx owners manuel is worthless compared to the info in the dvx book.

I haven't tried it myself, but I've always thought that it would be better to do stop motion with a still camera. I mean, you can get a cheap 5-megapixel still camera that will give you better still images than a DVX (larger CCD, anyway). You could even shoot at true HD resolution, or even RAW image format, then convert down. Then piece together the frames in your editing software.
