Stoner Short... Letus35 FE

Hey Cory!
It`s been a while...glad you posted some Letus35 FE footy again :)
Well the only thing i didn`t like was the "slow mo" scene, first it was way too long IMO, should`ve made some cuts there to make it more interesting and dinamic and it didn`t look filmic :(, probably cause you shot it 60i, right?
Anyways, apart from that, another good one from ya :P
P.S. "Spin the bottle" short was very good though :)

the only thing i dont understand is how was the camera soo shaky. Even if it was windy, are you sure you had that thing in perfect balance? peeerfect balance.

The lighting seemed inconsistant when you went in for the close ups, which was much better in my opinion than the wider long shot.

good stuff though, acting was definately passable :) nothing short of a will ferrel performance.
 
Yeah I totally agree with both of you... I not happy at all with the tracking shot, it went all wrong. This was a last minute late night thing. The actors aren't actors at all, just friends from high school.
I would have liked to edit the middle shot differently but I had a maximum of 2 cuts for the assignment. The glidecam was balanced perfectly, the wind was making it tip sideways back and forth, I had to try and keep it upright with my left hand, which totally made the thing obsolete, might as well have been handheld.
But it was still fun to shoot, and when my mother takes a hit, well that's my fav.

I didn't boost the gain at all.. I had a generator and a 600 watt light that a friend was carrying behind me as we tracked back. I'm planning on doing this shot over again in the future and doing it right. The adapter was on the camera with a 50mm 1.4 lens.
 
okay, but seriously. That was hilarious. I mean the Chariots of Fire music?? That was the funniest **** I've ever seen. The acting was perfect.

I think the end felt tacked on and a little cliche (parental figure who you think is going to tell them not to smoke but smokes herself). I think you should ditch that part and find a way to end it on just the chariots of fire stuff (despite your awesome DOF close-up on the guy).

edit: Okay, I just read the comments. NO NO NO! Everybody is wrong! The tracking shot is what makes this movie! It doesn't matter that it's a little out of balance. These are stoners! Their life isn't in balance! And cutting into it?? No way. The fact that it's one long shot is what makes it unique. Do NOT edit that part. Everybody is wrong. I'm right. This movie is genius.

p.s. I don't even like movies about stoners. So you know it has to be good.
