Hey all...
I guess this is the right forum for this post.
My Camera got stolen from my car on the way to a shoot a few months ago and I thought a shot in the dark is to post on here.
If you see a

It was in a Porta Brace Quick Draw and had
Lectrosonics wireless Cr 185 transmitter/receiver with a tram
TR-50 Lav with it. Also two boxes of panasonic AY DVM63 AMQ tapes.
Keep the tapes...I miss my camera... : (

what area are you in in northern california, be sure to check craigslist, facebook, myspace and other markets for people sell, hell even local papers

I live near Redding CA...
I, of course, filed a police report....I'm sure they're devoting all their resources to finding my gear...not! i checked pawn shops...around here, they would touch a camera like that...Checked craigs list regularly...no luck. I learned a valuable lesson, insure your gear! Last Nov. I had said camera in the trunk of my car...me and my wife sitting at a red light and got rearended by a drunk driver. That one cost me $650.00 for repairs. OUCH!

Be well.....Jeffro

A couple more years and we'll have LoJack for the cameras. You can get a software version for your laptop now, just waiting for the hardware to get smaller. Hope you find it.

let go

let go

Thanks arekdv...

I have pretty much let it go. I had another camera within a week and have no hope of recovering the stolen one. Well, maybe a tiny bit...hence the post. I used to get emotionally attached to my cameras but now they are just another piece of equipment, albeit an expensive one, but they do have a limited lifespan. That cameras lifespan was used up for me. At least it WASN'T a $25,000 XDCAM with 10k worth of lenses. !

Be well, all...Jeffro

You probably know this but just in case you do not, you might consider getting uninsured motorist property damage coverage. It is really cheap and replaces or fixes your car should an uninsured motorist hit you. I think that might extend to damage to the camera as well but that could also be covered under homeowner's insurance if you have the right coverage. We got hit by an uninsured motorist and our BMW 325i was totalled as a result. I loved that car!!! Luckily we had uninsured motorist and received a nice settlement from our insurance company for the property damage part of the claim. Can't say the same for the injury to my spouse. It was a real fight to reach a settlement and we were not happy with the final result.

sorry to hear that avp.
I actually just sold my JVC GY-DV500 about 1 month ago to a guy in canada. Great camera. Unfortunately I didn't even use mine. (bad boy)
Just let it sit there until now that I already got new equipment. At least I'm getting started now. :)
Good luck with finding a replacement. and with finding your old camera.
