Stills

Very nice! Of course the pictures looks so good because of your excellent lightning :-), but could you post your scene file settings too?

You are good at lighting and I like the art direction/BG as well. I shoot hundreds of interviews each year and it is difficult to make interviews look nice because they rarely seem to give you the necessary extra hour to make it look good.

Love the HPX300, I only shot narrative with it, didn't have a chance to shoot interviews. Love that codec, AVC INTRA 100.

Nice work man!

Thanks Guys. The background was about 15 feet away from the front of the lens and at least I got a little DOF. Has anyone used other lenses with this camera yet? Would a better lens help with DOF at all? I know it's 1/3 inch blah blah blah. I used the scene file "nature"

dersublue: It's a EZFX junior jib with a Sachtler tripod dolly.

The only way to decrease DOF would be a longer lens and moving the camera back even farther from subject. If you seriously want shallow DOF, you need to purchase the new Letus relay adapter for the 300, it will get you that shallow DOF you crave.

No, I don't believe so. That just lets you mount other lenses but does nothing for your DOF beyond a 16mm DOF because you are still imaging off of the 1/3" imager, you are just doing it through PL mount lenses. Have you ever shot S16? it isn't really very shallow DOF, nothing like 35mm. You need this http://www.letus35.com/cart/Letus-1-3-Pro-Relay-Lens.html and a Letus adapter, that is how you obtain truly shallow DOF on an HPX300, you shoot a virtual image off of a ground glass in the Letus adapter. You are looking at $4,000.00 to $8,000.00 plus lenses, depending on which Letus adapter you choose. It's not cheap to obtain shallow DOF on bigger broadcast cameras.
