Good stuff! Love the colors. Too bad about the overexposed window in the first shot. I love to see stained glass in that type of scene. Probably a hangover from attening church services in england when I was but a lad...I used to dismiss the sermon in favour of marvelling at the beautiful streams and spills of light .
I like em a lot. Did I hear you hint at a video to view at some point?
Thanks Mino. We were fighting the natural light all the way at that location. The front actually had regular windows all the way at the top with a bright baby blue ceiling. Too high to black out and they made the whole front blue-ish. Getting the warm glow was tough. Our DP blue gelled the key light (a 5K HMI into a 12 x 12 white silk) to match the natural light and we white balanced on the blue.
Here's how it looked when the DP (Tim Walton) was done.
There are scenes in a Moose Lodge and we really wanted them to look like flourescent hell. So we got 1/2 Plus Green gels for our lights, which matched the old style green flourescents in the location nicely.
Here's a before / after of a simple matte shot done in Photoshop and Vegas to remove the light towers above the trains. Literally less than five minutes to do.
