Stills from GRAY CHRISTMAS

Re: Stills from GRAY CHRISTMAS

Crazy canucks eh?

The actors in this movie have been doing a really great job actually (heh, yes, i'm part of the crew). Putting up with all kinds of cold weather. Girl in the first scene is wearing a mini-skirt in -20C weather. She almost got hypothermia.

Speaking of cold weather... the DVX gets a little wonky in cold weather eh? Just a good idea to warm it up once and awhile when shooting in cold weather... isn't that right Mike?

That is absolutely correct, "Thinspirit" (lol).

Man do I have some stories....

the entire car sequence (one of the stills was posted) was shot inside a garage, as i've mentioned. We shot for seven hours straight, completely taking out of consideration what that would do to the camera! When we watched our footage, everything in the last five hours of the shoot was COMPLETELY ridden with dropouts, 100% unusable footage!

Luckily the actors and crew (well, when I say crew, I mean the producer/composer, who served as the only crew member on that day!) were all willing to come the next day. We re-shot the footage, but this time making sure that every hour we took the camera inside, and took a half hour break to warm it up.

And even though she won't read this, I'm officially thanking the actress who wore the mini skirt in the minus twenty weather for an hour and a half. The footage looks good.

Hopefully I'm having the last day of shooting this monday...It's all indoors, though! No cold actors (or DVXs)!
