We are using two hacked GH1's with various nikon primes.

"C" AVCHD settings with GOP=12.

Stills look nice.

Which nikon lenses did you use?

Plan on sharing some video in the near future?

I'll have more stills as time goes on. We'll be shooting the remainder of the film in December if we get funded.

These stills are not color corrected. Most everything was shot with ND filters and polarizers. When it was possible we put up scrim to bring down the sun brightness and then used bounce boards to bring up faces and things (pic #6 is an example but don't mind me walking through the background. :) )

Nikon 50mm F1.4 and 105mm F2.4. Also used was an old Vivitar 28mm F2.5.

We'll have a trailer and some test footage from this shoot available soon.

Oh and I found that I could modify focal distances by using some antique macro rings that allow me to shim the lenses as little as 1/4". This allows me to focus within a few 1/10ths of an inch out to a couple feet. This can simulate a long lens but still use a short one.

Is that all???

Interesting idea can't wait to see more. You have any festivals lined up yet?

The director/2nd camera/writer/exec producer/set designer has an idea of what festivals he wants to submit to. I'll ask him and see if he'll post the list or something.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone, we're trying very hard to make this high quality with the little budget we have.

Suggest you to try Vivitar 28mm F2.0 by Komine (one with 28xx serial).

My set could be Viv 28mm F2.0, Pentax SMC 50mm F1.7, Samyang 85mm F1.4.
All lenses are pretty useful even wide open for video.

That's pretty ingenious I'll have to try that out sometime.

I'm looking at a few of those 28mm F2 lenses. Seems that there are a lot of broken ones for sale which makes me wonder if they are fragile. Have you had any problems with yours?

No, it is not as contrasty as modern one.
And F2.0 in photo mode generally requires some sharpness to be applied (deconvolution is even better).
My copy is in "like new" condition. You just need to look slightly longer.
If you want real beast look at Soligor C/D 80-200mm F3.5. Can be used as weapon. Abberations are not corrected. Usable at 3.5, but softy. But closed down it is so sharp... Love it.
Next thing to look at is 28-200mm F3.5-5.3 Vivitar (code name - hidden Vivitar gem).
Closed down this thing outresolves any modern APS-C sensor (you nedd lens in perfect condition, not abused one, of course).
I just mentioned lenses that frequently go for less than $40 per copy :-) Funny, isn't it?

....dang....thanks for that tip (heading to eBay right now :) )

Nice looking images Svart. Hope to see the footage soon.
