Still no news for a7s recording 4k with Odyssey 7Q? I would like to know how a7s being record by 7Q, need buy extra converter for a7s or just use the hdmi cable and the hdmi port of 7Q.
If need to buy the extra converter, how big will it be. I would like to think how i'm going to build my a7s rig with it soon. Hope it is not bulky solution or the best it can work straight away with the exist hdmi port.

Any some basic information about it Mitch? or anyone?
 
There was a converter setup from another company that we tested and found it did not work. We talked to Sony as we thought they had used the same gear this way and founc out it didn't work for them either. So that was an unfortunate setback.

I won't go into naming the product as I don't wish to bad mouth someone else's product. But right now there is not an off the shelf solution for this short of feeding into a decently powerful computer.
 
ok, hope there's a news on it soon.
Beside that, i just tried a7s with 7Q with hdmi. I can't record by camera trigger setting. Anything i missing or it won't work on a7s. Will any update can solve this problem? It is very hard to use with steadicam if can't record by using camera trigger.

This is addressed in our upcoming firmware update.
