Hey Guys! Thought I'd make a thread for this short I'm currently doing. It's a 6 minute long Action Drama set in the 1940s, during the London Blitz. It's about a homeless boy who gets caught stealing food from a bombed house, in a time where looting could mean the death sentence.

Written, Directed, Edited and VFX by me, Miguel Santana. Shot on the Red Epic with Arri Ultraprimes, starring Ben Walker (played Roger in The Golden Compass) in the lead role. Another notable person involved is Erik Bork, co-writer on Band of Brothers.

It's now been edited and the VFX are officially underway! Here's the first shot completed for the film, using Nuke:

And the film poster is also attached below.

For more info, visit http://www.stillfallstherain.com where you can see behind the scenes pictures, more info about post production etc.

This is the Behind the scenes video of day 1 (with location scouting clips at the start):

It's due to be completed in May this year. Thanks for looking : )

Edit: Thought I'd introduce myself, since this is my first post! I'm a London based award-winning director and VFX artist, I've worked on feature films and TV commercials, and most recently did some work on Wrath of the Titans at MPC in London. I'm also still a student, on my last year of a VFX degree. : )

This looks awesome.

I am a big fan of World War II films as well, so beyond the great looking effects shot, I am really interested in seeing this when it's all done.

OMG, amazing! Was it as simple (PROBABLY NOT!) as it looked in the clip to change a brick wall/building into WWII? Could you make a period piece merely by dressing the characters right and letting the fx change the time period? Or did it take hours to do those few seconds? sorry just new to these possibilities and want to keep my dreams realistic if I ever wanted to try something like this on a feature. Many thanks for sharing!

Would also love a tutorial on the creation of the poster that you mentioned in your blog.

Thanks.
