Stepping Rings

Hey All,
I had been using a Sony VX-2100 with a Raynox 3000 mod-fisheye.
I now roll with an HVX-200 AP.
The diameter of the vx-2100 and raynox is 58mm and the HVX is 82mm
I can't find anywhere a 58-82 stepping ring.
The fisheye is a threaded mount.
What can I do or where can I find one. I have heard of using multiple step rings, if thats what it takes fine, would image quality be affected?
Thank you for any suggestions!
Eric.

Get a 82mm to 72mm step-down ring, as well as a 72mm to 58mm step-down ring and you'll be in business.

I just got a whole gaggle of rings and lenses off E-bay, and haven't been able to find an 82mm to 58mm step-down ring yet, but I think you should be able to pick up those two ring for under $15....I'd suggest making sure they are made of aluminum.

edit : The image quality can be affected some, but in the end it's all about if you like the look. I've found some odd combinations of lenses, and some I only plan to use for specific shots.....if nothing else it's only about 15 bucks to try it out

I wouldn't reccomend this... Before i got a century MK1 I had that raynox with a 58mm-52mm ring for my vx1000. It was fine because it was stepping out. But if your planning on stepping in from 82mm to 58mm, it will have major vignetting. I've seen a DVX century fish on HVX, and it looked decent, but the raynox might take away from the quality of the HVX.
