Stepped up to the AF100

I have decided to step up to the AF100 from my HM-150 and this week finished putting together my camera.

Most of my work is for my personal business, as I am not prone to doing outside / for hire work, however I am very excited about using this camera.

As it stands, the camera additions are:

Cinevate AF100 Rail Package w/ Matte Box, Follow Focus
Anton Bauer Dionics Battery with Matrix Mounting
Atomos Samurai Recorder

Currently I am using my Nikon lenses with it, but also ordered a Zeiss. F / G Mount adaptor from Novoflex

I also have a Cinevate Atlas slider, Tascam DR40 with a host of audio options including Sennheiser G2s, Shotguns, etc.

Because of what I am doing video wise, which is a lot of field recording, run & gun stuff, this won't necessarily be traveling to the field as much, but more in studio, although who knows. It's really set up to do both.

The nice part about the Anton Bauer stuff is, the Elipz that I have for my HM-150 will also work with this camera and vice versa, the Anton Bauer stuff is really great.

I did notice in the list of people using the AF100 that nobody was listed in the Denver area, so if anyone is ever interested please feel free to drop me a line.

Looking forward to using this system and I appreciate the help this forum has quietly provided me. Thank you all.

Lot of gear there for home videos may I say.

I think you misunderstood - Frank said most of his work was for his personal business (as in the business that he owns) - not home videos.

And Frank - totally agree on the AB stuff.
I hemmed and hawed on whether or not to bite the bullet and get Dionics for my newest setup - and finally did.
Very happy I went that route.

Enjoy the new cam.

Yes, Luis is correct.

My business has a nice video element to it, where we have well over 500 paid (recurring) monthly subscribers to our videos. We are also in the process of preparing a DVD shoot to bring our lessons to that market.

This is not for "home videos" we shoot several videos on a monthly basis, and that aspect of the site is growing where advertisers and manufacturers want more and more videos done by us, to be features in our work.

So at the end of the day I live off my projects, I just haven't taken on outside projects not related to myself.

Sniper's Hide is the cutting edge site in our field, like this one. So the video work supports that end.

Matt,

Thanks, glad you like the site.

Hi Frank, and welcome aboard.
A few of us here own other gear besides cameras and lenses.

Glad to see you are shooting civilized with a can on, very nice set up, the Mcree is a very solid platform to build off of.
