With the camera's mode dial set to "S" and the dedicated motion picture button pressed, the aperture is adjusted steplessly and noiselessly during pans from light to dark areas. The trouble is, in the "S" mode the ISO is on AUTO -- that is, often way too high and noisy.
With the camera's mode dial set to "creative motion picture mode" and the motion picture mode menu set to EXPOSURE MODE "S", the ISO can be selected manually, but during filming the aperture is adjusted in distinct steps, accompanied by an audible clicking of the iris. In short, it is unuseable.
Is there something wrong with my kits lens or have any of you noticed this on yours as well?
After all, the "stepless" iris was touted as one of the key features of the kit lens...
