Step down ring is stuck !!!!

My stepdown ring for my redrock is stuck to the threads on my HVX and I have a wedding tomorow. How do I get this off? I dont think its cross threaded its just completly stuck

Here's what I'm thinking... Strap Wrench... might give you the leverage you need.

Using a fat rubber band around the diameter of the ring will give you a better grip. Usually works for me. or use a rubberized dishwashing glove to twist it off.

In the past I have used the flat of my palm to apply even pressure across the ring of a stuck filter to free them up.

I use the rubber jar opener trick too. It still require so much pressure it's a little nerve-wracking but it works...

Sometimes if you just give them a little tap to a table or knock it with something (not too hard) it will suddenly unscrew quite easily.

I always use the rubbery side of a mouse pad. It can't be one of those really foamy ones though.

Always always always remove the ring after your shoot... I place my hand across the ring ---taking care to cup my palm to avoid contact with the glass.

Leaving it on saves you what...7 seconds? Why risk having to put anything so close to the glass?

I had one stuck so tight I had to use a big pair of channel locks to get it off.
