Steadystick®

Its another cheap alternative to a steadicam that dosn't work as a steadicam properly.

Id like to see an EX1 and an SGpro with rails and everything ontop of this thing.

For the weight of an Adaptor system you better start taking steroids.

Otherwise, I think it's a clever approach. It seems like it would be good for doc, ENG style work, etc. For dolly style smooth walking shots, based on their footage it doesn't cut it. Notice they fade out as soon as the camera locks off at the end of a move. My guess it can't hold a static steady unless it's braced. My Merlin could easily come to a stop and hold a steady static shot (as long as your arms held out). Also, their footage doesn't seem much smooth than when I walk with a mono-pod. Though the two handles would help reduce fatigue.

You want to glide with 5kg, you need something with an arm / vest.

Ironically: "Steady Stick" is a product made by Tiffen (who also make the original Steadicam). Tiffen's unit is designed to take the weight off your shoulder when dooing stactic handheld shooting. ... a whole differnt class of "stabilizer" (of which there are many options from many manufacturers.)

I don't know if this unit is a knock-off of Tiffen's unit, or just an unfortunatly named seperatly concived product. But they are not the same.

Flowpod and Steadystick

Flowpod and Steadystick

Actually the FlowPod and the Steadystick are completely different. The Flowpod has a gimbal and the Steadystick is fixed.

Also this Steadystick product from Germany is not related to the Tiffen line in USA or atleast as I remember. I actually received a sample of the Steadystick from the maker in Germany years ago for the purposes of considering carrying the product.

VariZoom did not carry the product but as I remember it was solid built.

Hello everyone.
What do you think of this STEADYSTICK® compared to VariZoom flowpod?

I have a sony EX1 and will probably add sgpro to it. Anyone knows this STEADYSTICK? Seems more robust. My setup would be around 5kg (11 lbs) with sgpro?
