Steady stick

Depends on what you want to do with it?

They are good for holding the camera's weight so it's not all on yoru arm. It's not a Steadicam by a long shot, but for basic added stabilty it does work.

It helps to relieve the weight, which keeps your arm from dipping down. If you also sway side to side, like me, it won't help there either ;)

There is a board member that has his own line of similar products, his name is Danny Nativel? Do a search through these threads for steady stick, and he'll pop up.

not really usefull at all if you ask me. Your hand is still going to shake and be naturally jerky, which kind of defeats the purpose.

The closest is our DvJuniorRig. It is equipped with a fluid head and a spring loaded
shock absorbing support pod.

That thing works great FOR WHAT IT IS. But it is not what it is not.

As Mikko said, it ain't a steadicam type of thing. What the Steadi-Stick does is put the weight of the camera over your hips, not your back or arm or shoulder. I've shot all day with it and it's absolutely heavenly as compared to hand-holding a DVX all day.

But it does little to nothing to stabilize your shots. It's all about saving your back from aching.

Darn it Barry! I not a Y .. Steadicam
Don't talk to Barry like that...he is the camera master, he is allowed to make such a faux-pas if he chooses. In fact, now that Barry spells it Steadycam, I will assume it is correct and spell it as such from now on.

- Larry ... sits back to watch Barry G. ban Mikko :banned:
