my first post is a plug, what's your point. are you saying that i am not allowed to post information that's helpful because it's a plug? then why mention steadycam, glidecam or merlin. they're all plugs.

i'll say it again, cody's plans are awesome. i bought the plans, built the rig and have been using it for over a year with great results. but building your own isn't for everyone.

And I do think that the comment on your first post beeing a pure plug was justified..occasiallny there can be a bit of overadvertizing, so it's kept in check, nothing personal. - I must say that i'll hapily ensodrse your plug, or rather: helpfull link, Cody makes good plans.

NBC- That fig rig is starting to sound more interesting. When I first saw the thing, I laughed. Anyone else use it? I might try to build something similar and see how I like it.
 
For some reason I remember reading a review or a post or something about the fig rig that tore it apart talking about how it wasn't usefull.
Regarding a lot of the comments here, I am actually going to be purchasing the Glidecam 4000. I chose it because it will allow me to add accessories to my DVX and not have to worry about the weight limit. Furthermore, the balance issues are a concern, but from everything I have read, seen, and heard about this unit, it is very helpfull and practical, and as long as you invest the time to practice with it, it works great. I am excited about it. I don't have the extra $1500 to invest into the smooth shooter (plus, from what I hear it is 2-3 months back ordered), so I am just going to get the 4000 and wait and see how I progress with that and then move up. The flyer and all the vest based steadicam systems are incredible (not from experience, but from reviews of people I trust), but for me the price tag is just too much at this point. Maybe if I start getting a ton of paying gigs then it will be worth it. Let me find that fig rig thing I read.

Settle down, Frances. The point is we (the community of DVXuser.com) get lots of first-time posters who get on here and pimp a company's product, then they disappear.

If you're legit, good. However, this community was in existence long before you thought to make your post here. So, you need to be the one stepping lightly. :happy:

boys and girls, i bought my first dvx a month after it was released and have been coming to this site since it went online. i've learned a lot and when i want to know what's going on NOW, i come here so i'm hardly a newbie.

information is information no matter if comes from the experts or a smart ass like me.

ban me for all i care, i can still get the info when i need it.
