steadicam?

hey there, I really would like to build a steadicam for my work, I am only 14 so I don't have a huge budget. I already have made the $14 steadicam, and it works fine but you can't really do any action with it because of its build (running, jumping, stairs, etc.). I have looked at some sites like homebuiltstabilizers.com, but I want something that kind of has instructions (if there aren't any about how to build the full rig, maybe I could build it in pieces). Thanks so much!

Yup, the DIY section here is your first stop.
Then head over and spend more time at homebuiltstabilisers.com - be sure to take a look at the forum there; www.hbsboard.com

You best bet for plans is probably Cody Deegan's plans. They are linked in a recent thread in the DIY section here, and linked from all over HBS.

There aren't really any free instructions online, because; well, it takes a lot of time (=money) to design a steadicam type stabilizer. The best way to build for yourself is to do as much research as possible - including Cody's plans, HBS, the HBS board, and as much reading on steadicam as possible - read the manuals at: www.steadicam-ops.com - and then plan your build from there.

Good luck.

ok that sounds great, actually after looking a little more on the site (HBS) I found quite a few things, including both your rigs Mikko ;-) I will have to look at Cody's plans, but I was planning on building Patrik Moore's plan...Thanks
