steadicam wireless video

I've never heard of it, but it looks interesting.

Seems pretty pricy for a unit with RCA connectors only though. I'd firgure you'd get something locking like BNC, LEMO, or HRS for a unit in this price range.

Though the connector type isn't that critical if it works. :)

That's really expensive for what it is. Try one of the $40 off ebay first. You'll be very hard pressed to find an HD one for cheap. Post this over in the "equipment" section.

Right now I'm using mostly a cheapo kit I picked up off e-bay that I got lucky with - for monitoring. It glitches and is susceptible to wi-fi interference, but for basic director's monitoring, it's ok.

When I need higher quality, then it's rental time if production doesnt already have the gear on board.

Eventually I'll probabaly need to own a higher quality unit.

It seems all I can find on ebay are ones that appear to need AC wall power? What are your guys using...or waht have you used you like. Most guys seem to have Modulus 3000 (now out with 4000).

Most units do come with a power supply from the wall. But most units run on 12v, so you just need the appropriate cable to power them from the Steadicam's power outlets.

The Canatrans is another popular Steadicam transmitter.

The Modulus units are more susceptible to interference than they should be (with diversity and so on). I've seen better 2.4GHz signals.
