Steadicam for HVX200 + other gear

I am looking for a Steadicam for current and future need. I found the steadicam merlin interesting but I guess it is too much limited for the weight. If I ever wish to put a HVX200 + M2 35mm adaptor, Merlin is not ennuf.

What are my other options ? I am looking for the best of the cheapest :) That mean is I am ready to put the money, but budget is far from unlimited, but if I have no choices I'll wait even more to get the right things.

I try to make it my buying policyfor everything... Sadly my bank account is in the big negative, but I've been happier about my purchases. *all my gear are just for fun of using and learning, no buisness, so no ROI*

You can't beat the steadícam flyer.
It will take up to 15 pound load. I believe Mikko has a lot of experience with that rig.
It's still around $6500 without batteries, so it's a lot more than a $ 799.95 merlin.
The great thing about it is that the arm has top nuch feel. Very fluid.

There are other rigs from glidecam and sachtler. Some speak highly of the new Glidecam V25, but it's $8000. They all use the old arm design and are not iso-elastic.

If you want to have the HVX+M2+SLR lens+mattebox and baseplate it might be a bit over the top for the flyer arm, but if you can strip some wight to get it under 15, it flies wonderfully.

The Merlin is a huge bargain for what it can do. I too want the flyer, however, I can't afford to swing over 6 grand at this time.

There is an article in the current Videomaker mag about the Glidecam pro 2000/ 4000. They seemed to like it. I saw the vest, and it looked reasonably well built. I think its in the $2,000.00 range.

I have a flyer for sale £3500 with batteries + charger etc :)
It's the perfect system for the HVX.
