Steadicam Flyer and Bebob Box FS

I am getting a steadicam Flyer in the next week or so and am wondering the best way to mount my firestore FS-100.

Would the best bet be a Bebob Box FS mounted under the camera?

Hmm, you need the most ridged setup you can get. I think the BoxFS is prety solid from what I've tested it out at tradeshows. It shoudl work jsut fine.

The HVX on it's own is a little light for the Flyer, adding the Firestore and moving the HVX up a bit would definatly help with balance.

Thanks for the reply, I actually just PM'd you as I thought you might know!!
Just need to sort out a steadicam workshop in the UK, if they take place.

I use the box with the hvx and flyer and it works fine. As there is only one screw conneting the box and hvx, you may want to put a thin layer of industrial rubber or similar between the hvx and the box, to prevent it from moving about when being touched for balancing etc.

One possible probelm is that the fs100 is quite noisy, so if you need the audio, the whine from the fs100 fan may be heard. For handheld I tuck the fs100 away in a backpack with ventilation, but the rigid firewire cable is not nice to run from the flyer.

Contact Robin Thwaites from Tiffen about the workshop. He is a great teacher!

Thanks I have left Robin a message. Trouble is it takes place a week before I head out to Orlando with the family for two weeks holiday. Don't think the wife will be too impressed with me spending money on a three day course and then not being able to get into Disney!!!
