STEADFAST - Coming Soon 2010!
The chairman of an international defense systems corporation attempts to reveal a major financial cover-up, but finds himself the target of an assassin. He also faces pressure from his fellow directors to remain silent for the sake of their company. Only a lone government agent is sent in to neutralize the killer, but soon discovers a larger, more sinister scheme at work than a simple hit. In a violent world where the strongest survive, can the hope for peace remain steadfast?
STEADFAST is Singapore’s most ambitious modern action film to date, featuring an international cast and gun-blazing chase sequences. Made by two very ambitious young directors, the non-profit independent film is supported by the Singapore Film Commission, Canon Singapore, Samsonite, and other private sponsors.
Hi guys! I'm one of the co-directors of STEADFAST, shot multi-cam style with Canon XH-A1s and an XL-H1. First off, I would like to thanks the DVXUser Community for this open forum and allowing us to share our projects.
After I graduated from UC Santa Cruz, I moved to Singapore; a small island nation in Southeast Asia and the land from which I was born. As an aspiring filmmaker, it was the perfect place to start although it was a challenge nonetheless, working in a foreign environment. I made a number of short films in the ways that I knew how and made friends with very creative individuals, such as my co-director, David Liu.
The film industry here is still in its infancy in comparison to even American independent films. However, it is developing quickly and it is an honor to be a part of that growth. I am also proud to say that this film would be a major contribution to this region's cinema as far as independent action films are concerned.
Being a low-budget production, STEADFAST would not have been possible without the support and sacrifice made by the cast and the crew. It was more than what I could/should have asked for and beyond what I deserve.
The film is already complete and I just can't wait until the feedback comes in after its release! We are currently promoting it online with more to come in the next few months. We're definitely looking forward to sharing our experiences with you all.
In the meantime, enjoy the teaser! The trailer will soon follow...
Your friendly neighborhood filmmaker,
Linus Chen
