"Staying Clean" GH-1 Feature Teaser

No offense meant but its a girl standing at a tree for 35 seconds.
Why would anyone be intrigued to want to see more of this?

Im with Rippie on this. What you shot looks good (although I would shorten those shots by a few seconds each) Im not too sure why this is a teaser, A teaser should intice the audience to want to see more. And there just wasn't enough here to do so.

Here's the wikipedia definition:
A teaser trailer, or just teaser, is a short trailer used to advertise an upcoming film, television program, video game, or product.
Teasers, unlike typical theatrical trailers, are usually very short in length (between 30–60 seconds) and usually contain little, if any, actual footage from the film. Sometimes, it is merely a truncated version of a theatrical trailer. They are usually released long in advance of the film they advertise. One of the reasons for the name "teaser" is because they are shown usually a long time (one or one and a half years) before the movie comes out, so as to "tease" the audience.

This WAS a tease-I really just wanted to see how compressed my footage looks in Vimeo and I'm on the fence about it....I realize I can't stream uncompressed so navigating this WAS the purpose of this exercise. Thanks for playing.

Brian, obviously you cant take OBVIOUS criticism and thats fine.
But you're very incorrect in posting that definition to try to back up your footage.

a TEASER (by its very definition) is TEASING the audience into wanting to see MORE.
A girl standing at a tree doing absolutely nothing in the middle of the day
is hardly making the audience go.. "wow i cant want to see more".

And if you now act like this entire thread was a "joke" (tease) as you mention
when in fact you posted it on your facebook page..etc... is just looking for a way out.

I'll agree to humbly disagree w/ you! I didn't say "joke"-that is your word, I have alot of editing ahead of me and my purpose here was accomplished....a tease, albiet a public one.

This is a very good example of what a "teaser" should be to give you a better idea, Brian. It's between 30-90 seconds, it gives you a sense but not too much of what the story's going to be about (although you can probably infer somewhat), and it gets the viewer interested and wanting to find out more.

I think JJ is very good at teasers. Whether you liked the movie or not, I remember the teasers for Cloverfield gave away NOTHING from the movie and created a lot of buzz.

EDIT: Interestingly, one of my film teachers is named Brian Brooks and I live in Southern California. I was wondering if this was him, but I don't think so.

I have to agree with the rest. I saw this and thought..."Cute chick. Always a good start." Then I thought "....okay, so what's the story." I kept thinking she was going to shoot up, or make a promise to not use drugs or a hand was going to grab her or something, but nope, just walking. I mean it's tops in cute chicks walking videos, but I don't think that's what you were going for. I will say the camera work looks nice, for what it is.

This does look pretty good.

This would have only been a teaser if the girl had been less dressed. I've seen GH1 "test" videos more interesting than this. This is the one and only time you'll see me say "I'd have rather seen some flowers or dogs"
