Hi All:

I have to share my experience with JVC Professional service.
I have a BR-DV3000UB...I bought it as a U and then paid $550 to upgrade to the B version, becuase the U never worked right...had audio problems...1500 for the deck that never worked properly, plus 550 to "fix it"...last week new audio problems appeared, and after talking to JVC service in New Jersey, they told me that a circuit board needed replacement and that it would be $ 250...the unit had 60 hours when it was upgraded, and now has 120 hours, and JVC keeps charging to fix this crap...never JVC again...

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure JVC makes some good products, but it sounds like you got a lemon and some bad service. You shouldn't need to pay for problems which were manufactured by them. They should refund you every dime.

I bought a JVC VCR once. It was horrible. I never bought anything of theirs again. I'm sure some people have had good experiences with them, but I'm not one of them.

I try not to be bias and always give others a chance but I continue to hear negative reviews. I definetly want to see how this JVC HD holds up.

Before we get too deep in the mudslinging, I'm sure that there are some good JVC products. We are all entitled to our opinion and have our own experiences. (Mine above) But I would hate to see this become a bash JVC thread.

Hi There: The unit was out of warranty the first time, but, it was a known flaw that these units had, so JVC released a new version that took care of the problems of the first model..so I paid for the upgrade...but the second time, it was only 5 months after it had been repaired and they told me that the repairs have only 30 days warranty...
I have to say that I own two Leica cameras and thay have been in service three times, they never charged anything, not even shipping...now that's a partner that I like to have...and pay a premium for the products.
