Startup lag issue

Actually, the whole program seems to be laggy. It takes about 10 to 20 minutes to start up, and then is very slow on the render process, plus it temporarily freezes at the end of a render.

I am running a PC with:
AMD athaon 64 +3000 2ghz
1GB ram
NVIDIA GeForce 6600

Brand freaking new hard drive too.


I have tried closing all background processes, re-installing, cleaning my memory cache, all the obvious stuff. Nothing has worked. Its just such a pain in the ass to edit stuff now that it takes 10 minutes to render anything. Any suggestions?

I had a similar issue when I first installed the electronic version. Without regard as to whether yours is electronic or on disc I would (as you have already taken other reasonable measures) do an uninstall/reinstall. PIA, I know, but if it works you'll be glad you did.

P.S. While I think you could use a little more RAM I wouldn't think that's the sole cause of your issue.
 
Nah ram isnt an issue I have run Premiere on this machine for ever before I got the new HDD without any problems.
