starting to edit

I have 2 GH1 for shooting a small indie, am lock and low with c settings for both.Am using a series of FD lenses and Contax G lenses. I do not use the native 24 patch (as I find it unreliable), using the AVCHD mode then I make the pulldown for each clip to prores 422(HQ) and I edit thru FCP7. I keep the whole file folder of the mts.files from the SD card to an external HD and label them accordingly.

My sound is external with a tascam...unless the camera sound is better.

I have 3rd camera I use for inserts and occasional scenes thats the GF1 but I shoot with this on Mpeg (ipowell setting). The mpeg I convert to prores 422 HQ and upconverting it to 1920x1080 thru mpeg stream, it stays at 30fps, unless it is stationary and nothing is moving infront I convert it as well to 23.97 via mpeg stream.

So far so good....does anyone think I am doing the longer way? or has a better workflow? Any Comments will greatly be appreciated!

What is the workflow Final out: BluRay, Film Print, Web, etc ?

I would keep sound separate and record on tascam. GH1 audio is only for reference for sync. Keep in mind if you do not record in native 24p (23.976) you will have to adjust sound files to 99.9% because you'll be using pull down on ProRes Files.

If not,

GH1 Native 23.976 > L&T @ ProRes HQ > JES (free) or Neoscene ($129) to De-interlace
Tascam 48khz @ 16bits > SD Card (will sync without adjustment)

Good luck,
Cheers
