"Starter Wife" audio sound

Hey, has anyone been watching "Starter Wife" on the USA chanel w/ Debra Messing. Can someone tell me how to reproduce the sound they have in their audio. When you here them talk it reminds me of watching a bootleg movie that was originally video taped in a theater and the audio has some weird cinematic sound to it.

You may have to watch a full episode to know what I mean.

If you are familliar, can you tell me how its done?
