GH3 Starter Lenses for the Gh3 and does an External Monitor Work With it?

Thanks man. You're a big help. I'm going to buy the Panasonic 14mm and the FD 35-105 3.5 parfocal lens. I'm pretty sure that'll be a better option vs using the 14mm to 140. Everything else seems a bit expensive right now. It'll be just enough so I can save on a steady cam for a better lens option for the future.

That Canon lens is huge and heavy. Just something to be aware of. Plus I have found FD lenses to be softer and have less contrast compared to m43 lenses. If you shoot all FD it is a very nice look but when you mix the lenses the difference can stand out. I love my FD 50mm f1.8 but since I didn't want to invest in a FD 25mm and it is impossible to get a wider and fast FD lens it rarely gets used. Plus keep in mind 35mm is not very wide on m43. That is almost border line a portrait lens. That means most of the time you will have to use the 14mm and not really have a normal view lens to shoot with. I might suggest the 20mm although not having a 14mm option at all isn't good either. Welcome to the expensive world of DSLR cameras.

LOL! I'm confused. Yeah you're right though. But I like zooms, because you zoom in and out on the shoulder rig without changing lenses. I have a 17-50mm on my Canon rebel t3i, which I could use as my b-camera. I was actually going to buy the same lens to use on the gh3, but I heard some bad reviews about not using it on panasonic DSLRs, because it wouldn't be as sharp enough. I did see a video by this guy who has the 35-105 FD lens. Let me know of your thoughts on this, thanks:

Totally agree about the zooms which is why I suggested the 14-140. What it lacks in low light capability it makes up for in almost every other possible way. It is about the most versatile lens you can have on m43 not just because of the super zoom range but the stabilization, auto focus and overall sharp details it can capture. Until the lights go out entirely it can the one lens to rule them all.

That FD could very well do a great job. I just don't know. I do know that using adapted lenses has a certain level of compromise and their look isn't always the same as a m43 lens. I really do love the 50mm FD lens I have but it just doesn't match well with all my other lenses. I assume the FD 35-105 is pretty darn cheap so if it isn't a huge investment you can try it out. I just wanted to point out how big and heavy it is and that it may not have the same look as the Panasonic 14mm f2.5 lens.

By the way since you don't mind having full manual lenses you should really check out the Rokinon 12mm f2.0 or their cine version t2.2 lens. Slightly wider than the Panasonic but 2/3 of a stop faster. You might be able to find it for the same price as the Panasonic 14mm. I just got lucky and bought a Rokinon 12mm t2.2 for $289.00 on Amazon during one of their lightening deals. The photo version f2.0 is always pretty affordable.

Would I need an adapter for the Rokinon 12mm 2.0? One more thing. I was looking up these lenses. This guy put these sigmas on his gh3 and they seem to do pretty well:
