I want to make my first film but am having a hard time finding a camera. I want something that has good quality but isn't $1000000000000. Does anyone have suggestions? Its getting really anyoing. Film or Video.

Depends on what you are doing with it, how much you have to spend, and how long of a learning curve you need.

My quick .02: If you have the funds, get a DVX100b, or a used DVX100a. If you don't, get something like a AG-DVC30, or a small three chip consumer camera. Experiment, make a horrible first film, then go from there!

I also am waiting to make a name for myself in Hollywood once I get my camera and Blow the Film world upside down. I just need the Camera and then look out

Thanks

Thanks

Thanks guys. Actually I just found this to be a great site for film in general. I don't plane on making a horrible first film. I know not to get my hopes up and but I think I can make something pretty good. Thats why I'm want a good camera so it doesn't look like crap. I'm not trying to make a name in Hollywood, actually I hope the proffesionalism and exclusivism of Hollywood is destroyed forever. I'm more a Peter Jackson/Stanley Kubrick/Orson Welles type. Ala only use Hollywood to release films but never work for the stuidos or them. Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.

A good camera won't AUTOMATICALLY make things look good, unfortunately. There is MUCH more involved than that.
