Start Stop Lanc button

I am interest in getting a lanc button attached to my glide cam to make start and stop video recording easier. Will any lanc controller work with the FS700 by pugging into the jack at the back of the camera? Is all lanc code the same for all camera which have lanc ability?

Does anyone know of a simple wired lank that is just a simple button and nothing else that will work?

Any LANC controller for sony/canon should work. I'm using three of them, starting from cheap benk controller (like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/eBenk-LANC-...=Camera_Camcorder_Remotes&hash=item3f1dd068b4 ) to 521 LX manfrotto. Both can remotely move focus with lens AF motor. Check this video (FS700 works same like FS100):

I think 70 usd only for start/stop is too much anyway.

Why not just get an extension chord for the handle, and a rosette to mount the handle wherever you wish to mount it?
