A not so typical wedding video inspired by the client's love of films such as Indiana Jones and Star Wars. There are no speeches here. This is an abstract short film around live events inspired by the style of David Lynch and Stanley Kubrick. Filmed in Las Vegas and on the actual set of Star Wars at the Death Valley National Park. Filmed on 5D MKII, MKIII, t3i, and a proprietary slow motion camera at 1,200 fps. Hope you guys enjoy it!

The rings?

Star Wars and Indiana Jones of course!

My suggestion, don't ever say something is "inspired by the style of David Lynch and Stanley Kubrick" unless you want people to go in looking for a reason to hate your project. It comes off very snobby. Not to mention that none of this video comes across as Lynch or Kubrick at all, so i'm not sure why you would mention their names.

That being said, most of the footage is nice. I like the color grade and general composition of a lot of the shots. The editing was good. It definitely feels and looks very professional.

I won't say some of the story decisions are bad, because I understand it's supposed to be abstract, but one thing that bugged me was the rings falling on the ground at the end. It doesn't make sense that the last image we would be left with is a newly married couple with their wedding rings laying in the dirt. It seemed like it was put there just to be a cool shot (which it was).

Overall definitely different than any other wedding video i've seen, which I think is a good thing. If there's any realm of video production that is staler than a year old baguette, it's wedding videos. I appreciate the effort to do something different, even if it doesn't make sense outside the context of just wanting a cool looking video.
