Star wars episode 7: Coming soon?

This is HUGE. HUGE. Way bigger then I think I can comprehend at the moment. Lucasfilm is a huge company with its hands in SO MUCH stuff. Disney just nabbed a goldmine past/present/future.

I can't believe it.

The whole series is so screwed up and tarnished (IMO) who cares. Go ahead, throw a #7 that you think is going to be a cash cow in there, let the fan boys go nuts and everyone else sigh and face palm. At this point, who really cares/

Heck if Lucas doesn't write and direct it, it could turn out halfway decent.

I'm in a bit of shock right now. This is possibly the biggest deal in film history.

This also means George Lucas has relinquished control over Star Wars. He will no longer have say in what happens to it. Perhaps that's a good thing?

I don't know. I just don't know.

And MAYBE it means we could get a DVD or blu-ray release of the ORIGINAL THEATRICAL RELEASES of the original trilogy?

Maybe?

Please? :)

We're assuming Lucas is divesting all control. I'm betting he'll still have some control over the films he produced himself.

For me, the big question now is who in the world are they going to get to direct the new film.

If I had to bet, I would put my money on Gore Verbinski. He's Disney's favorite director, with a great track record. I can't think of anyone they would trust more, and they're obviously going to put their top director in charge of this, because the potential earnings are enormous.

Don't do 7, just........RE-Boot!
Star Wars got so screwed up a reboot could work. No woks, jar jar, ninja yoda, etc, etc, etc.

Just rebels vs the empire.

it didn't hurt StarTrek... but I could do without the lens flares :)
