Re: Star wars box set

Cool. In a weird way, I was hoping they were still there ;) The technique they used was extremely innovative for the time and it's good to see it untouched even if it wasn’t perfect.

Re: Star wars box set

Yay! Just picked my copy up today. It was 53 dollars after tax, 10 more than I had to spend, but I don't currently have a car or know what my address is.

I'm so stoaked...these are my favorite movies and I can't wait to see them.

Wow policar, are you drunk? Your posts usually don't have that many spelling and gramatical errors. ;)

Re: Star wars box set

Yeah -- I was watching them for the first time with the TwoBoys last night. I too can't believe how well they cleaned up. The Jawa(sp) night scene? The skys are great now.

I also like the fact that if you play all the Jedi Knights games (as my boys do...) you see all the googlie (twoboys term) guys and weapons and spider thingies. They're having a blast.

Ok though... Why doesn't C3PO remember Obi Wan? Must not really be the same C3PO??

And the Princess thinks her father "You served my father in the Clone Wars"... Jimmy Smits dude? Is that right?

Re: Star wars box set

Well..I just got done watching Return of teh Jedi and some of you might hate me for saying this...but I kinda liked that Hayden was added in. I don't know why..but it just seemed to look better.

Re: Star wars box set

Actually, I just saw Return of the Jedi today, too. And, Hayden at the end didn't bug me as much as I thought it would.

As a matter of fact, the whole thing looked pretty good - there were a few added CGI things - many of which were from the original special edition :P Particularly in Jabba's place with the CG singers - that just flat out pissed me off, and it always had. I had forgotten that was in there, it just took me right out as it did back in '97. The whole movie has an almost gritty look to it - but that stuff was just so clean.

Anyways, overall it was pretty cool, and it was definitely great to see it in widescreen again - the only time I've *ever* seen it in widescreen was back in 97, everything else was pan and scan VHS - so that was great, too.
