I have nothing to do with this show but I learned it was shot on the F3/Kipro mini and the new episode coming up will be as well. It is purposely made to look like the 60's show and surprisingly done well!

Why is any indie project done? These are huge Trek fans that took it further than most. They have tons of fun, get attention from the hard work and get to polish acting skills, etc.. The DP is doing a great job recreating the hard light look so that's good practice too. They might get attention from other industry people too, who knows. They have 57,000 followers on facebook which is amazing so far. https://www.facebook.com/StarTrekContinues

Hi guys!

I was the second unit DP on the brand new episode of Star Trek Continues just released last night. I can confirm that we used the F3 with KiPro Mini on all episodes. Vic Mignona, the director/producer/Captain Kirk is a huge huge HUGE Trek fan and a very successful voice actor. I imagine it's mostly a love letter to the series, but also a vehicle to get his face, company, etc in front of fans and producers. Pretty brilliant if you ask me. I saw a clip of Tom Hanks talking about the project on Larry King or Bill Moyers so it's getting a ton of attention. Such a cool idea and executed on a ridiculous level.

Check out the new episode "Lolani" here:

This is easily one of the very best examples I've ever seen of what the F3 is capable of! I'm so impressed!!

Could have fooled me. They should release a "the making of Star Trek" DVD. I'd love to see how they managed to pull this one off. Particularly impressed by the colors and the detail. I'm sure lighting was well planned but also grading would have been top notch.

Watched the Lolani Episode. Honestly this is the first time in my life I watched two entire episodes of Star Trek. Had to pick up my jaw from the floor both times. Amazing visuals! Miles ahead of almost anything else I've seen done with the F3 ! I also recognized Lou Ferrigno there, and for a while thought Lolani was being played by Katy Perry
