Star Spangled Hendrix Fireworks

Shot last night on the beach- the fireworks were launched from a barge just offshore in the Atlantic Ocean.
I hiked in about 15 minutes from my parking spot, so I only used a stills tripod, which bounced around a bit with the 70-200 in the 20 mph winds.
And then of course pouring rain heading back to the car...

Canon 24-70 2.8L, 70-200 2.8L, Tokina 11-16 2.8
A mix of 24p and overcranked 60.
ISO 400, HD Norm/Norm 2
Ungraded except for highlights in 2 shots- surprised at the lack of noise in the blacks...

Thanks Steve! I went back and added more explosions to the beat in the beginning...
And as a player, hopefully the song worked for you, too.

Great music for a fireworks display.

Was just playing 'Hey Joe' on my Fiesta Red Strat when I saw this post

Nice "old fart music" Jimi is the greatest!
True! Be sure to check my new member category above my avatar...
Apologies to Jimi for the multiple audio edits- leaving enough feedback to keep it "Jimi", but shortening and tightening for the edit... I beg for forgiveness...

Cool, Shooter
I have a red '63 Tele... played the Star Spangled Banner yesterday (my birthday- the fart just got a little older...)

Maybe that's why wood tripods were phased out!

"What so prooooudly we hailed, as the tripod was burning..."

Perhaps Jimi should've been a DP... but then again many of his images may have looked like the light streaks of the fireworks...
