StandBy Mode problem

I did a search but nothing comes up. Question when shoot with the DVX100 if the camera goes into standby mode how do you get it out. When it happens I push the rec button but nothing happens I turn off the camera then back on.

I guess would cause the problem of my time code resetting to 00:00:00:00 on the same tape. Can anyone tell me if you can shut the standby mode off or I'm i doing something wrong when getting the camera to come back from this mode

Re: StandBy Mode problem

I believe you want to go to Other Functions>Tape Protect>and set to STBY.

Re: StandBy Mode problem

The camera going into standby mode should not effect your timecode. If your timecode is resetting, that's different problem.

Ok so if the camera goes in standby mode how do yu get it out of standby mode so you can finish shooting?

Re: StandBy Mode problem

you press record to wake it up, try switching it to PWR, use it, then back to STBY... timecode is resetting to zero because you are dropping power to the memory, you can hit rec check to get the tc back. When you turn the camera off wait till the little red light on the power button stops flashing before you turn it on again.

I keep wondering why anyone would want to set the preferences so it powers down in the first place. Personally, I'm an adult... I want the camera to remain on until I decide to power it off. Anyone want to chime in...
