High Definition is 1080i, not "720p".
There's some software available that allows you to bump your DVX100 footage up to High Definition - and it does a pretty good job of it too.

Try doing an advanced search with the subject being 'convert to hi def'.
Maybe you'll get more specifics from that result.

Good luck!

is there a difference between exporting at 1280x720 instead using Instant HD? Does anybody have some comparison pictures?

InstantHD offers this, and if you bought your DVX during a certain time period in 2008, you could mail in for a free copy of it.

how do i get i copy of instant hd i bought in 2008. Through mail?
Also i use sony vegas 7.0 to edit. its instant hd work with vegas?

Did you buy it between September 08 and December 31 08? I think that was the time frame, and if you did, the paper that you fill out and mail in should have been in the DVX box.

Not sure if it's compatible with Vegas, I use Adobe.

I don't understand the thought process of upressing to HD from a SD source. Why do you want to do this?

It's simply a guess on my part, but it would make sense if you were assembling a project consisting of multiple formats with the final output being HD.

I'd love to see the results.

I may try up-rezzing soon myself. I've heard a few folks say it works fairly well:)
