guys is there any way too turn this off??
If I got it right its the tape protect thing that goes or 2 stand by or power off....... can I just let it run and tweak the camara as long as I want without recording?

You can turn off this protection by going into the camera menu, #7(other functions), press down until you get to "Tape Protect" turn it either to STBY of OFF.

No, it wont turn off the camera, itll turn off the TAPE PROTECT feature.

Make sure you select standby. You have to select the field, the switch it over. You can't just look at it and think that it has changed. 8)

OH, so I'm some guy now am I? ;)
I have mine in standby mode. I meant to STBY mode, but somehow "off" slipped in there too. Sorry for the mix up
