Staggered zoom on EX1R with remote zoom

Has anyone encountered jittery or staggered zooms when using an external zoom controller on the EX1R? I'm using the Bebob Zoe EX on my EX1R and have noticed its almost impossible to do a slow creep in or creep out with the controller. It seems you have to really hit a faster speed to get it smoother which isn't always suitable to the shot. I used the same zoom controller on my old EX1 and didn't seem to have this problem. It is really an issue and hampering my ability to deliver good results to my clients and is crazy for a camera of this price.

I'm not a big fan of zooming generally but I do lots of weddings and live shows which requires it. My EX1R is only a couple months old, have Sony changed anything? Perhaps my Bebob Zoe EX is not as compatible with this new camera as it was with the old. Should I get it serviced?

Has anyone experienced similar problems? And what external zoom controllers do people prefer or recommend to use with this upgrade to the EX1?

There have been known issues with the EX1 camera lens' stuttering at slow zooms. The Libec ZC-9EX does the best at defeating it. The problem is so bad, that Sony hobbled the EX1R's zoom speed so that you can't set it slower than 10 I believe. Originally it went down to 1. Try disengaging your servo, manually zooming in & out a bit, then re-engaging the servo motor.

Did you get your unsteady zoom issues resolved. What did you find you had to do? Did you experiment with the Libec control. Can't imagine that would take care of it....but I have the same issues and would like to get resolved.
