stabilizers for DSLR

Davis and Sanford and Smith Victor Don't really make high quality products. None of the stuff I had from them has ever lasted. Tripod, Lighting etc. I would stay away from both. Save some coin and get a Merlin or Glidecam

I am trying -- at the suggestion of someone else here -- Joby Gorillapod focus. In preliminary tinkering, I think it's going to work. Not the best solution, but far from the worst, and good "value for money" anyway.

I find my cb-105 just about right depending on the lens I have on the gh-1.

Also, I've had pretty good results strapping a belt around a pillow around my waist.

more of a support than a stabilizer though

I just discovered the 'halo' today and after your link looked further into it. What a deal.I just may go for it!

No, I still haven't made a solid decision yet, so much to choose from...

Any recommendations on a monopod?

Bogen 681B is what I use... I love it its got a large diameter so its easy to hold and helps out with stabilization when collapsed. It doesn't have feet, I guess i wanted something always compact. I would recommend otherwise...
