SSD for the new Macbook Pros

Hi all, I keep reading on this forum that some highly scored SSDs don´t work well with video editing and that it´s better to ask for real life experiences.

I´m looking forward replacing the optical bay of my new macbook pro with a SSD drive and I want something that makes sense regarding performance/price/size. I don´t want to spend a fortune on it basically but it should be able to play uncompressed 1080p.

Any recommendations?

Note that the optical bay SATA bus is SATA II, and the boot drive SATA port is SATA III. That's 3 Gbps versus 6Gbps.

That being said, I had good results with Crucial SSDs in last years MacBook Pro.

I'll throw my 2cents worth in the bucket.

I had two of the OWC (otherworld) mercury SSDs in my 2009 Unibody Macbook pro. I did the same thing and replaced my optical drive. Although it's not recommended, i was using one or boot and apps, and the other for capture/scratch. Worked great! Expensive, but fast.
I also now (since selling the MPB) have out them in my MacPro and it screams! If you have the budget for SSD, you wont regret it. I warn you, you wont want to go back to HDD.
Good Luck!
