FS5: SR3 - internal RAW for FS series

I just spoke with Juan Martinez of Sony. This was a mistake of poor wording in the Sony announcement. The FS5 will get simultaneous FS RAW output and internal video recording. No internal RAW recording for the FS5 or FS7.. There will be a corrected version coming from Sony.

Odd the Sony twitter account must not have understood the question posed to them either.

There was some confusion surrounding this and I got some garbled information as well. Juan confirms that it is external.

Don't be too hard on Sony, in the end even a big corporation is made up of people like you and I. People can sometimes make mistakes. In this case there was a spec written out for an announcement of a FUTURE FUNCTIONALITY and this one line was worded poorly. Because of that it left several people with the wrong perception, including the individual responsible for the Sony Pro US Twitter feed. Remember that the camera originally had one level of function and then this function was updated, and then this question came about a brief mention about a functionality that will be coming in the future. That and Sony puts out a heck of a lot of different products. Easy enough for a misunderstanding to make it out there. It happens to the best of us.

The Product Manager has cleared it up and made sure that the correct info is now going out.

I think this demonstrated a little bit of how Sony is broken personally.

Clearly it may be 'one poorly worded line' but that should be so obvious to everyone down the whole chain that they should all have queried it.

And the broken chain is why we have the shutter bug, critical functions stuffed deep in illogical menus and all the other reasons that Sony are opening themselves to be beasted by the opposition.

Who loses from that? Sony.

C300 sales verses F3 sales? Hmm.

Ody 7q with a chip on the front? yep id probably leave sony for that.

It's disappointing but with any corporation especially as large as Sony. Things like this will happen. Im just glad they are quick to work on these updates considering the camera was only recently released. It's not the perfect camera, agreed. And all the quirks makes it no where closer towards being it. But for what it is, albeit at a still high price...it's an amazing camera.
