Can anyone please tell me what capture settings i use in FCP when shooting squeeze? Do i just capture as normal or do i have to change my capture or canvas settings? Cheers.

everything is the same as 4:3 capture in your sequence settings click the box that says anamorphic short cut to settings is apple+0

Thanks Jaimebailon, i did that but the bars are down each side instead of on top and bottom? am i doing something wrong? Thanks.

try deleting those clips from your timeline and from your project and re-import them from the capture scratch folder to your project

Aaah got ya, good stuff! One more question, when i drag it into Idvd it has no black bars weather I pick 4:3 or 16:9 it just looks really crappy and stretched anyway i can get it to look 16:9 in IDVD. Cheers.

Just wondering, if you're using FCP to edit, why are you not using the DVD Pro software from the FCP 2.0 Suite? I have the same setup, just wondering what the advantages/disadvantages are?

I find the IDVD works just as well for dumping footage onto... Anyone out there know why it looks fine on FCP but looks stretched on IDVD 4:3 and 16:9????

In iDVD it is supposed to look stretched because this is the way that it looks as an anamorphic image. I think that if you write the clip to a dvd using iDVD and then play it in a DVD player and TV then you will find that it goes back to normal. The reason for this is that a widescreen TV requires an image to be in the stretched anamorphic version. When playing an anamorphic DVD on a 4:3 TV, the dvd player compresses the image back to the way it should look.

If you test this and it doesn't work then make sure that the settings in iDVD are for a 16:9 or anamorphic project.
