Squeeze Mode...

So I shot some footage in the squeeze mode. I then captured it into FCP5. I put it in a 16:9 sequence. I then cut it and then exported out at a HD-720 setting(the only setting that was 24p and 16:9 that I could find.. The footage looks great and it is widescreen. Now do you really lose a lot of res, when you shoot in squeeze mode? Any input would be great. Thanks.

Lose resolution? Like how? You are not using all of the cam's pixels, because it is a 4:3 aspect ratio CCD, but it's an okay to record for 16:9. Nothing wrong with it.
Some prefer to shoot 4:3 and then crop what they don't like, others use the anamorphic lens (that DOES use all the pixels).

The squeeze is good!
