Squeeze Mode to 4x3

Since squeeze mode cuts off the top and bottom of the frame, is it possible to capture a 4x3 clip from a squeeze mode recording?

If it's footage you already have, you can zoom in on a 4:3 frame in the picture. That's what they do with pan and scan.

If you're going to shoot, the better bet would be to shoot 4:3.
