Sqeaky zoom lever

when i zoom using my zoom lever (not the one on the handle) with my dvx, sometimes when filming something it will pick up a squeaky noise in the audio. Anyone ever has this problem....the lever makes the noise when my fingers are pushing against the side/down on it when zooming. Is there anything to stop this noise?

I've heard people complaining when using their focusring, in the same way. maybe some small gravel or dirt has slipped through.

Its not the zoom ring that makes the noise its the lever (not the one on the handle. thanks
