Here is a spot shot with our AF100/Arri Alura package by Art Adams for Director Ian McCamey. Recording was done in-camera and onto an AJA Ki Pro back in January. AC Adam Wilt, Gaffer Luke Seerveld, DIT Jeff Regan.
Looks a little washed out, or overexposed to me, can't tell which. Mainly in the whites and mids. Maybe it was a stylistic choice? Regardless, it looks great, with that one exception.
Yep. It is the look du jour. I have so many broadcast clients that want this look. As a DP it is disturbing to see perfectly exposed images manipulated this way.
The spot was certainly graded and color corrected, however, it's not that different than how it was shot, but the mids were clearly pushed. The DP chose Low gamma, which wouldn't normally be my first choice for exteriors.
