spot or dirt inside viewvider

it is really bugging me, and i was wondering if it was possible to safely clean it? its located inside the viewfinder itself. any help would be appreciated

If it isn't showing up in footage, then I wouldn't even think once about it...the price to repair would probably be too high compared to how much you could get for the camera by selling it.

If it bothers you too much you could buy another DVX and sell yours at a price that is a bit lower....I'm sure there are alot of people willing to deal with a small imperfection in trade for the ability to film on a DVX

i have a couple very small dirt/dust specs in mine. if u have a manual it tells u how to clean it. i tried to clean mine via the instructions by taking off the eye cap holder (rotate anti clockwise i think) and it comes off. inside there is specially coated so DO NOT USE ANYTHING to touch it. the manual says to use a blower...NOT compressed air either. the air blower u get in the lens cleaning kits. i used mine but the small specs didnt budge. after blowing like crazy i left that alone. I wasnt gonna touch in there. It doesnt show on my footage so i;m fine. Just a bit irritating...however i deal with it cuz its really small and i only see it if i point to the blue sky or to something white and well lit.

(if u dont have a manual, google it and download one)

Amen to that. I use this exact rule for my photo gear - I just keep the sensor and the lens elements clean and ignore the rest.

You can actually use microfibre cloth, cleaning liquid etc if it is specifically marked for use with multicoated optical elements (like lenses, filters...) and if you know what you are doing.

You can use the compressed air, but it must be the pure version and you must only use it briefly and from a distance. If you use it directly and for longer time, the sudden drop in temperature may damage the multicoating.

If you twist the top piece off you can than take the three screws out and voila. You will then be able to blow away. I've gotten dust in it before and somehow an eyelash go in their. Just be careful.
