spot-on focus?

Hi. Me again. I've found a problem I've got when adjusting focal point between two actors. Good example is two actors in a modified medium 2 shot. Actor 1 is in focus, actor 2 is not. As soon as actor 1 finishes his line, change focus to actor 2 and they continue.
I can't change focus directly from one to the other without some delay or "missing" the exact focal point. Does the DVX100B offer a "macro" of sorts?
(set one focal point, then the other & switch between them)

I don't think the camera has any built-in feature that will help you. It does give you some numbers to reference your focal point on the OSD.

What you need is a follow-focus. You can more precisely adjust focus, and mark your points.

There is no automated function, but normally all you'd need to do is take note of the MF00-MF99 numbers of your focus point, and rack between them. The DVX is just about the easiest of the low-cost cameras to execute a rack focus on. Go into the display setup menu and make sure that the focus & zoom display is turned on, then just set critical focus for both marks and memorize the numbers (i.e., actor one at MF88, actor two at MF65) and then just rack between them when it's time.

What i do, is put small bits of tape on the focus ring at the points where eace person is infocus, and a piece of tape on the camera somewhere. then just move it between these markers. it is faster then trying to read the numbers on the lcd.
