splitting clip over 2 p2s

i was wondering if there is a way to turn this feature off so even if there is still an empty p2 in the second slot the recording clip will end when it bumps into the end of the first card. i'm going to be shooting a lot of short clips and it seems like it might be annoying to have a 10 second clip split up. thanks.

Well, no, I don't think so. But you could write-protect the other card until the first one is full if you want to avoid splitting...

Good idea. For storage of files off P2 cards, would it work to move data from several P2 cards into one "large" P2 card on a HDD? For example, one "clips" folder with all the MXF files instead of a folder for each P2 card? Can't find any info on this in any of the manuals.
