GH2 Splitter for Mic and remote

Hi all, just joined the forum and this is my first post. I have a question.

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a splitter that will allow an external mic and a remote shutter release to be used at the same time? I want to create a shoulder mount for my GH2 that I can put a shutter release on and that will also allow for an ext mic. I am not sure what to look for in a splitter. Any suggestions?

The jack is single mode, unfortunately. You can either have a microphone or a remote attached, but not both at once.

Really? That is a disappointment. That does make me wonder how people start and stop the recordings when using the GH2 on a shoulder rig that has an ext mic.

I have an H2 but I have been thinking about getting the Rode Stereo Mic Pro.
